What the Leather Actually Is

Everything here is made from real hide — cowhide, sheepskin, or lambskin depending on the jacket — in top-grain or full-grain leather. That matters more than it sounds: full-grain and top-grain leather keep the natural grain of the hide intact, which is what lets it breathe, flex without cracking, and develop a genuine patina rather than peeling the way bonded or coated "leather" does after a season.We source our hides from the tanneries in Sialkot, Pakistan, a place well known for its leather manufacturing hub. Caring for a Leather Aviator Jacket

Genuine leather lasts for years if it's looked after — wipe it down after wear, keep it away from direct heat and prolonged sun (both dry out and unevenly fade the hide), and condition it every few months so it doesn't crack at the fold lines. Shearling-lined styles need the wool brushed out occasionally to keep it from matting.
